Jacara Zar digital prints available only at Komikon 2012!*
These digital prints will be sold exclusively at Komikon 2012, which will happen on October 27th at the Bayanihan Center, Pioneer Street, Mandaluyong City! These will be numbered and will be very limited. But if demands then I’ll try to make some more.
Those who will buy Jacara Zar #1 plus any of the prints will get a free full commission sketch. So bring your backing boards or sketch pads for me to scribble. Just don’t let me sketch at the back of the digital print, okay? XD
Each digital print will cost PhP100.00 each, no reservation. Sorry.
See you all on the 27th!

I will be attending this year’s 2nd Komikon. Last Summer Komikon 2012 I didn’t get a chance to attend coz I was so occupied with my work, still working on Dynamite Entertainment’s The Bionic Man. This year, I will be one of the guests along with Marvel Comics artist Dexter Soy and Kubori Kikiam’s Michael David.
There will be bunch of artists in the Komiks Kalye! For the first time, Roy Allan Martinez will be attending this event. It’s been a while since I’ve seen this man–the genius artist behind Image Comics’ Wicked! So you guys better get those old Wetworks, Grifter, Wicked, and historic Kick Fighter comics pile up for him to sign!
Oh, I’ll be occupying a small portion of Comic Odyssey, selling Jacara Zar #1, few copies digital prints (announcement coming soon!), signing and doing some FREE rough sketches for every purchase of Jacara Zar #1.
If you’ll ask about Jacara Zar #2, sorry, no issue this year. Maybe next year’s Free Comic Book Day (2013), the 2nd book will be out. I hope you won’t get disappointed coz the issue is 32 pages with 31-page story. You’ll get to see the map of Zarreebba.
I will be accepting commission sketches (PhP500.00) at the event. Sorry, no take-home for now coz I still have pending commissions I need to finish. At the event, I can only accept five (5) commission sketches. Can’t do anymore than that. Either you can bring your sketch pads, backing boards, or blank covers for me to scribble on.
Hope to see you all there!Comments Off | Print This Post

You request, we draw. What to draw? Well, your favourite superhero, or cartoon characters. Of course, comic book artist doesn’t mean we know ALL of the characters you request. If you have any reference you can show us, just bring it in. We prefer to ask one (1) character per sketch.
When to pay? Before we start, we need to get our hands of your payments. Wika nga “bayad muna, bago baba”, like you see in public vehicles.
How much?! Usually we ask 500 Pesos per sketch on a bristol board (size of a backing board for comics). We also apply same rate on blank covers. This is either in INK or just PENCIL. In my case, if PAINTING is requested, I give them higher rate around 1,000-2,000 Pesos depends on what will be in the painting.
First come, first served. If you’re last in the list, that doesn’t mean you won’t get your sketch. In my case, Comic Odyssey can keep your finished sketch, where you can pick it up at their branch in Robinsons Galleria. If you missed us in a convention, or want to send request privately, you can just message/email us or ask Comic Odyssey for your request.
Quality of work. Of course working outside our comfort zone is different from our studios. Most of us prefer to work at home, like myself. But we try to make our sketches as good as the ones we do at home. Since it is also difficult to draw coz there are people asking for signatures and photos, we sometimes lost our rhythm.
Portraits is a No-No. For me you’ll get a NO-SORRY answer. I’m not really good drawing people’s likeness. It is one of the weaknesses I wish to say to everyone. I may sketch your created character, yeah.Comments Off | Print This Post

Wolverine vs. Ninjas – Gouache painting
This piece won’t go anywhere outside Philippines. I made this Gouache painting (11″ x 17″) for a cause–for storm Sendong victims. There will be an event sometime early February with most of our fellow comic book artists working internationally and locally. The painting above will be auctioned…if you win this piece, you’ll be helping lots of people in Cagayan de Oro.
I will be doing more paintings smaller than this one, which will also be auctioned at the event. Announcement will be posted later.Comments Off | Print This Post
